Rugby Boat Sales masthead

Rugby Boat Sales is proud to be associated with Graham and Sarah Edgson at Norton Canes Boatbuilders. And happy, not least because it gives us the opportunity to go and drool over what many regard as the best built craft on the cut. From time to time Norton Canes have used models come to the market, and Rugby Boat Sales have agreed to become involved in marketing these boats on a one by one basis.Norton Canes - a boat ready to launch

Norton CanesThe Norton Canes yard has a long history - it has been a boat building yard since Yates Bros were established there in 1846. In the 1960s it was taken on by the legendary Malcolm Braine, who converted many former working boats into leisure craft. Graham Edgson, the current owner and builder, was Malcolm's foreman, and took over the reins in 1986. Graham's dedication to quality and tradition has ensured that Norton Canes is viewed by many as the gold standard by which all other narrow boats are judged.
